Delhi Police have arrested Azizul alias Pavva in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old man during a pickpocketing attempt in April. The victim, Saurabh, died from his injuries, leading to a six-month investigation involving CCTV footage analysis and local informer activation to identify the suspects.
In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have apprehended an individual connected to a fatal stabbing incident that occurred six months ago. The suspect, 24-year-old Azizul alias Pavva from Darjeeling, was arrested for his involvement in the murder of a 26-year-old man, Saurabh, in the Kotwali area of north Delhi.
The case unfolded on April 30, when authorities were alerted to a stabbing victim admitted to Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital. The victim was later transferred to LNJP Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on May 2. An extensive investigation followed, involving the analysis of CCTV footage from around 200 cameras and information from local informants, which led to the identification of the two suspects.
Azizul, who confessed to the crime during interrogation, revealed that he and his accomplice attempted to rob the victim. When the victim resisted, he was fatally stabbed. Although Azizul was eventually caught, police are actively pursuing his accomplice, Rafiq alias Rohit, who remains at large.
