Charlton Athletic will host Oxford United at the Valley on Saturday in another round of the 2025-26 EFL Championship campaign. Both sides will be eager to secure a rare positive result this weekend and climb higher up the league table after enduring a tough few weeks.
Charlton ended their five-game losing streak by securing a 1-1 draw against Birmingham City last time out and currently sit 17th, just five points clear of the relegation zone. The Addicks started the season strongly, losing only three of their first 14 league games, but have since failed to win and will be desperate to turn things around and return to winning ways soon, or risk being drawn into a relegation battle in the second half of the campaign.
Oxford United have fared no better than their weekend hosts this season, sitting in the relegation zone with just 19 points from 21 games and will be hoping to capitalize on facing a fellow struggling side this weekend. The Yellows appeared the stronger team when they hosted Preston North End last time out but ultimately fell 2-1, marking their 10th league defeat of the season.
The sides are closely matched ahead of Sunday's game but the Addicks hold a slight edge thanks to their home advantage and will hope it proves enough to secure a positive result.
The Yellows will need to be at their best -- something rarely seen this season -- to claim a win on the road, but they will remain optimistic about salvaging a draw.
Tip 2 - Goals - Over/under 2.5 - Over 2.5 goals (Four of the visitors' last six games have produced fewer than 2.5 goals)
