Pantomime season has arrived in Swindon

A pantomime packed with laughter and magic is delivering festive fun for audiences of all ages this Christmas.

Sleeping Beauty opened at the Wyvern Theatre on December 6 and will run until January 4.

The fairy-tale show features a star-studded cast including Jenny Ryan from The Chase as the villainous Carabosse, Abbie Budden as Princess Beauty, and Swindon panto favourite David Ashley as Nurse Nellie Nurofenna Nightcap.

Duncan Drury joins the cast as Prince Scott, with Thom Tuck as King Keir, and Gabrielle Friedman as Fairy Slumber.

Ben Goffe returns for a second year as Muddles, following his nomination for Best Comic at the UK Pantomime Awards.

A spokesman for the Wyvern Theatre said: "This year's panto promises to have all of the traditional panto elements you know and love - bags of comedy, oodles of magic and tons of fun.

"It's the is the perfect festive treat, full of sparkle and spectacle, to make those magical memories with all of the family.

"Sleeping Beauty plays at Swindon's Wyvern Theatre Until Sunday 4 January.

The cast is supported by an ensemble featuring Ben Bartlett, Amy Rose Gordon, Harry Reynolds, Holly Anne Rutter, and a team of young performers from the local area.

Sleeping Beauty is produced by Imagine Theatre and written by Sam Simkin.

The production is directed by David Ashley, with choreography by Charise Renouf.

Daniel Jarvis serves as musical director, with musical arrangements by Steve Clark.

Matt Ladkin is the lighting designer, while Ari Levy provides sound design.

Imagine Theatre is an award-winning company known for creating family-friendly productions across the UK, with more than 25 years in the industry.

In the last two years, the company has received 20 nominations from the UK Pantomime Association Awards, winning five, including Best Set and Best Pantomime over 900 seats.

The Wyvern Theatre, Wiltshire's largest theatre with 635 seats, offers a year-round programme of concerts, comedy, drama, and dance.

Sleeping Beauty marks another entry in its long tradition of hosting popular seasonal pantomimes.
