Mike Vrabel offers update and timeline for Patriots tackle Will Campbell

FOXBOROUGH - Mike Vrabel indicated Wednesday that the Patriots would be placing left tackle Will Campbell on injured reserve later in the day.

That means Campbell, who suffered a knee injury in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, will miss the next four games including key contests against Buffalo and Baltimore.

His loss will also be felt in Monday night's game against the New York Giants, who have a fierce pass rush.

The earliest Campbell will be eligible to return is the season finale against the Miami Dolphins.

The rookie first-round pick reportedly suffered a sprained MCL.

With Drake Maye's blindside protector out, Vrabel said the plan is to start Vederian Lowe at left tackle.

Lowe started 13 games for the Patriots last season, and has been Campbell's primary backup in 2025.

After Campbell went down against the Bengals, Lowe played 28 snaps and allowed two pressures.

Outside of Lowe, the Patriots also have rookie Marcus Bryant and Thayer Munford, who was signed Tuesday.
