76ers share new injury updates to Joel Embiid, Paul George, VJ Edgecombe and more

The Philadelphia 76ers (9-8) look to bounce back from losing three of their last four in a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets (3-14) on Black Friday.

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia 76ers were blown out by the Orlando Magic, a team that has been heating up in recent weeks, with a final score of 144-103.

However, the 76ers were without three of their top players.

Joel Embiid (knee) missed his eighth straight game, Paul George (ankle) was out for the fourth in a row and VJ Edgecombe (calf) sat for the second consecutive game in the loss.

76ers insider Noah Levick gave new injury updates to multiple players on Wednesday.

Levick wrote that Embiid went through individual strength and conditioning sessions, while George and Edgecombe practiced with the team. Additionally, Trendon Watford will be re-evaluated in two weeks after suffering a left adductor strain.

It appears that George and Edgecombe are in line to return for Friday's matchup against the Nets, but Embiid is trending towards missing his ninth straight game.

Embiid has appeared in six games this season. He's been limited to 23.3 minutes per game, averaging 19.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists on 46.0 percent shooting. While he's still averaging close to a point per minute he's on the court, he hasn't looked like the same player physically who won MVP two years ago.

As for Watford, he suffered an adductor strain in the 76ers' loss to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. The 25-year-old went up for a rebound in the second quarter and fell to the ground, needing help off the floor.
