Kolkata Metro Railway has decided to run special Metro services on 28 December for the aspirants of PSC Clerkship (Part - II) Examination.
In a bid to provide ease of travel to the examinees, the Metro authorities have announced an increased number of services and will start the trains earlier. On the day of examination, the authorities would run 168 services including 84 Up and 84 Down lines, instead of 130 services in the Blue Line. In the Green Line, 131 services (66 UP and 65 DN) will be operated instead of 108 services.

Considering the timing of the aspirants, the Metro authorities have also changed the timing of the first Metro and decided to start the services earlier. On that day, which is a Sunday, Metro services would be operated from 8 a.m. in the Blue Line and Green Line instead of 9 a.m. In the Blue Line, the first services from Dakshineswar, Noapara and Sahid Khudiram will be operated at 8 a.m. In the Green Line, the first services from Howrah Maidan and Salt Lake Sector V will start at 8 a.m and 8.02 a.m, respectively.
Apart from this, the special service from Howrah Maidan to Central Park would be operated at its usual time at 10.05 p.m. on that day while timings of the last services in Blue Line and Green Line will remain unchanged.
In addition, services will be available at 8 minutes intervals from 3.20 p.m. to 7.20 p.m. instead of 10 minutes for the day. Likewise, in the Green Line, services will be available at 10 minute-intervals instead of 15 minutes from 4 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on that day.
As informed by the city Metro office, normal services will be available on Yellow Line on that day, while no services would be operated on Purple Line and Orange Line.
