3 occupants injured in Stamford crash

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A two-vehicle collision in Stamford on Sunday morning sent three people to the hospital, police said.

The crash took place just after 4:30 a.m. on Long Ridge Road. Stamford police say a 2016 Nissan SUV, being driven by a 39-year-old Norwalk resident, was exiting a parking lot to head south on Long Ridge Road.

That is when a 2016 Volkswagen SUV, being operated by a 24-year-old Stamford resident, was traveling north and collided with the Nissan.

Stamford police said both vehicles sustained heavy damage, and the Nissan operator, who sustained life-threatening injuries, had to be extricated from their vehicle.

Both the Volkswagen operator and their 30-year-old passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

All victims were transported to Stamford Hospital Emergency Department.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information must contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at 203-977-4712.
