Since acquiring him in a trade with the New York Jets before the NFL trade deadline last month, Pittsburgh Steelers veteran wide receiver Mike Williams hasn't done much in his first four games with the team.
Williams secured a 32-yard touchdown catch in his Steelers debut in Week 10, but he has not recorded a catch since. Furthermore, Williams hasn't played many snaps, either.
But that was expected to change in Week 14 after the Steelers ruled out wide receiver George Pickens due to a hamstring injury. Pickens was expected to play initially but was a late scratch, with the Steelers erring on the side of caution.
Nevertheless, Williams hasn't been as involved as expected early on in the Week 14 game against the Browns. Here's a closer look.
Williams is indeed active and in the lineup. He was on the field in the first quarter and was targeted on a deep ball in the opening frame, but quarterback Russell Wilson overthrew him.
The Steelers' passing attack as a whole has been quiet early on, so Williams isn't the only one struggling. It was good to see an early target for Williams, but we're hoping to see a lot more.
