Poland plans to complete the creation of a new defense system against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on its eastern border within two years, Deputy Defense Minister Cesare Tomczyk said this in an interview with The Guardian newspaper, APA reports.
"We expect to be able to use the initial capabilities of the system in about half a year, perhaps sooner. It will take 24 months to complete the creation of the full system," he noted.
Tomczyk said that the new air defense systems will be integrated into the old defense line built a decade ago. According to the deputy minister, this line will be multi-level and will include machine guns, cannons, missiles, as well as systems for suppressing UAVs.
