Full schedule announced as Ulverston prepares for Dickensian Christmas Festival

The event, boasting a number of entertainers and traders across the town centre, will be taking place across November 29 and 30

The committee of unpaid volunteers have been working hard to get the celebration read in what has become 'one of the busiest and most popular Dickensian festivals in the country'.

They said: "There are some old favourites and some new faces.

"We've got some fantastic stalls for you as well as all our fabulous local shops.

"We'll have a food court on Theatre Street car park and we also have loads of amazing pubs, cafes and takeaways in our little town for you to try."

A Winter Wonderland area will be waiting at the top of Brogden Street, outside the Roxy Cinema and Laurel and Hardy Museum, with Santa ready to meet the children of Ulverston.

Street performers across the weekend will include Alastair Fleming, Andy Jester, Astral Circus, Danielle de la Wonk, Garry Gifford, Inner State Theatre, Roger Blighty, The Great Mandavi, The Rhubarbs, Tin Type Tricycle, and the Ulverston Amateur Operatic Society.
