FC Noah will build a modern UEFA Category 4 stadium in the Armenian city of Vagharshapat, commonly known as Echmiadzin.
The 7-billion-dram investment project, submitted for government approval by Imagine Yerevan on behalf of FC Noah, was endorsed by the Cabinet on Thursday.
The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 involves the reconstruction and modernization of the Vagharshapat Football Academy, expected to be completed by 2030. Phase 2 will see the construction of a 15,000-seat stadium, along with additional leisure and infrastructure facilities.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that his administration is also committed to developing a national stadium and other related infrastructure in the Academic City, which will be capable of hosting international tournaments.
The government is also working on the development of another UEFA Category 4 stadium in Vanadzor.
The sports complex in Vagharshapat will include a hotel, a school, a gym, a dormitory, a football academy, training grounds, and more.
