In a recent interview on The Jasta Show, Sebastian Bach shared a story about his time working with Ted Nugent on the Damnocracy project, describing a moment that felt like a "trap." He explained that he was tricked into drinking after being told that the day's filming was over.
"I was under the assumption that we would have a ban. That's what I thought, but Ted Nugent never thought that and Doc McGee never thought that. He was not interested. I did think it would be. I don't think any of that was really staged."
Bach thought that the work for the day on the TV show Supergroup was finished, and they would have some free time. However, he soon realized that Nugent and the show's producer, Doc McGee, had different plans. Bach expected to relax, but that didn't happen.
Bach said the situation wasn't planned, but it taught him an important lesson. He promised he would never drink on a TV show again after that experience. He remembered that after being told filming was done, they decided to order pizza for dinner. The house was stocked with wine and alcohol, so Bach thought it was okay to relax and have a drink.
"What they do is they go, 'Okay guys shooting's done for the day, let's wrap up, let's get some dinner.' I remember this specifically and they go, 'Let's order some pizza,' and we're like, 'Killer,' it's like 7 PM. So we order a bunch of pizza for dinner and then the whole house is stocked with booze, wine and I'm like, 'Oh we're done working, f*ck it.'"
As the night went on, Bach became frustrated because the pizza never came. Even though they were waiting, the production team purposely delayed the delivery, and Bach admitted he wasn't in the best state of mind. He didn't even remember if the pizza ever showed up, but the show captured some funny moments of him waiting.
Supergroup aired in 2006 and featured Bach, Nugent, Jason Bonham, Scott Ian, Evan Seinfeld, and McGhee living together in a Las Vegas mansion, trying to form a band and perform a concert.
The Damnocracy band broke up in 2010, and tensions grew between Bach and Nugent. During the show, Nugent criticized Bach's drinking, and later, Bach made accusations about Nugent's behavior. In 2021, Bach criticized Nugent for avoiding military service, and Nugent responded, saying Bach made nasty comments without checking the facts.
