Families can now submit primary school applications for children entering Reception or Year 3 in 2026.
Parents and carers in Hampshire have until January 15, 2026, to apply for a place for children entering Reception (Year R) or moving to Year 3 at junior schools.
Cllr Steve Forster, executive member for education at Hampshire County Council, said: "Every year, thousands of families trust us with one of the most important decisions in their child's early life.
"By naming three school preferences, parents give themselves the best chance of securing a place at one of their preferred choices.
"It's a vital part of the process, and we urge all families to take full advantage of it and apply by the important deadline of 15 January."
The council recommends naming three school preferences on the application to improve the chances of receiving an offer from a preferred school.
Over the past six years, 97 per cent of children were offered a place at one of the three preferred schools, and between 90 and 93 per cent secured a place at their first choice.
Parents are encouraged to use the School Catchment Area Finder, review admission policies and past data, and include the catchment school if applying for transport assistance.
Applications can be made online through the county council's school admissions pages.
