The initial rankings for the College Football Playoff were released on Tuesday. The SEC and Big Ten each had four teams projected to make the CFP.
The rankings could have major changes after a weekend where several ranked teams play each other. No. 11 Alabama vs. No. 16 LSU and No. 3 Georgia vs. No. 16 Ole Miss are two of the biggest games on the Week 11 schedule that will determine which SEC teams go to the CFP.
Manny Navarro of The Athletic is predicting Georgia will fall to Ole Miss at Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi on Saturday. Navarro thinks shaky quarterback play from the Bulldogs and the Rebels' explosive offense will decide the outcome.
Via The Athletic:
"The Bulldogs have won 11 of the last 12 meetings with the Rebels, including last year's 52-17 thrashing in Athens. Yet, there are reasons why the spread entering this one is less than a field goal: Carson Beck's 11 interceptions and Ole Miss' ability to post a gaudy stat line.
Dart's 515 passing yards and six TDs last week against Arkansas, with a breakout performance from Jordan Watkins, provide more reason for me to stick with my midseason prediction. That is Georgia finishes 10-2, misses the SEC title game and still makes noise in the College Football Playoff. Give me Ole Miss on a late TD pass from Dart."
Per ESPN's matchup predicted, Ole Miss has a 53.9% chance of winning Saturday's matchup. A win over Georgia would give the Rebels a chance to stay alive in the CFP conversation. However, Ole Miss has 26 players on the injury report before the contest.
Georgia's hopes of making the CFP wouldn't be crushed if they lost to Ole Miss. The Bulldogs would need to win their matchup with No. 7 Tennessee on Nov. 16. Georgia will then finish its regular season against Massachusetts and Georgia Tech.
