"At 1:47 p.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Glenwood to near Brantley. Movement was east at 30 mph," says the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects."
Locations impacted by the alert include Chestnut Grove, Clowers Crossroads, Victoria, Frisco, Arcus, Eanon, Wilkinstown, Bluff Spring, Zoar, Lowry Mill, Jack and Newby.
According to the weather service, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. for southeastern Alabama."
