Amazon had a record-breaking sales event in 2024, with impressive discounts across gaming, tech, toys and more. Now that Black Friday and Cyber Week are over, Amazon put out a press release stating its Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday holiday shopping event -- from November 21 through December 2 -- was its biggest ever (compared to the same 12-day period ending on Cyber Monday in years prior). Amazon also shared a new study found that "Amazon had the lowest online prices entering the holiday season, on average 14% lower, compared to other leading retailers in the U.S. for the eighth year in a row."
See below for some of the best-sellers across ten big categories from Amazon's Black Friday and Cyber Monday, followed by last-minute deals to be aware of for your holiday shopping. Are these best-sellers what you expected to see for each category listed?
Toys, Electronics, and Beauty were some of the biggest categories over Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which wasn't surprising. Amazon shoppers bought tons of Beats headphones, Samsung TVs, Barbies, Play-Doh, Shark vacuums, air purifiers, Medicube beauty devices, and skincare products this year. Amazon also highlighted its newest models of Echo Dot and Fire TV Stick 4K among the top-selling items overall.
Amazon also highlighted that independent sellers, mostly made up of small and medium-sized businesses, accounted for 60% of all sales made during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This is about a 10% increase from last year. Some of the highlighted independent sellers included JLab, Luxe Weavers, Blissy, and The Woobles.
While the big shopping events may be officially over, some deals are still available now, including some LEGO sets (like the one below). From December 3-14, you can save up to 40% on fashion and fitness brands like Columbia and Lacoste. If you're still figuring out holiday gifts, it's time to take advantage of Amazon's fast, free Prime delivery to secure last-minute gifts in time. Plus, Amazon now has a 3D Virtual Holiday Shop that mimics a physical store and makes online shopping for Christmas gifts a little more fun.
