25-Year-Old Woman Gang-Raped In Moving Car, Thrown On Gurgaon-Faridabad Road

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped and assaulted by two men after she accepted a lift in a van on Monday night, leaving her with serious facial injuries that required 12 stitches, The Times Of India reported.

The incident reportedly occurred on the Gurgaon-Faridabad road, and the woman was thrown out of the moving vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday.

The report quoted police sources and mentioned that the woman was held inside the van for nearly three hours as it travelled through isolated areas of Faridabad amid dense fog, limiting her ability to call for help.

Following a complaint by the survivor's family, a case was registered at Kotwali police station.

The Faridabad crime branch detained two suspects in connection with the case on Tuesday.

Police said the survivor, at around 8.30 pm on Monday, had said she was visiting a friend. This came after the survivor had an argument with her mother.

She told her sister that she was expected to return in two to three hours.

However, her departure was delayed, and by the time she left, it was close to midnight. Unable to secure transportation home, she reportedly accepted a lift in a van in which two men were present.

Instead of taking her to her intended destination, the men allegedly drove towards the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road.

Police said the vehicle travelled beyond the Hanuman temple on the stretch, where the woman was allegedly raped by both men.

Her attempts to call for help went in vain as few people were on the road due to the fog and freezing temperatures, leaving her cries unheard.

Around 3 am on Tuesday, the woman was allegedly pushed out of the van near Mula Hotel at Raja Chowk in SGM Nagar.

She managed to contact her sister, who immediately took her to a hospital in Faridabad.

Doctors initially referred her to a Delhi hospital for further treatment, but her family later admitted her to a private facility in the city.

Police officials said that the investigation is ongoing.
