People in Gwent are being encouraged to seek urgent free mental health support this Christmas if its needed.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board advises that its free urgent mental health help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, via a phone call.
People can access the service by calling 111 and pressing option two, if it is urgent but not life threatening.
The service, which is available to adults and children of any age, offers one-to-one help and care tailored to suit each person's needs.
The 'specially trained local mental well-being practitioners' at the other end of the phone can help with a range of different needs.
These include people experiencing a mental health problem for the first time, those with existing mental health problems whose symptoms have worsened, and someone who has self-harmed but it does not appear to be life-threatening, or they're talking about wanting to self-harm.
The practitioners can also help anyone experiencing domestic violence, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, or a person showing signs of possible dementia.
People who have already been given a crisis line number by a health professional should call that, instead of the 111 line.
Anyone who is under the care of a mental health team with a specific care plan should follow this plan.
The health board added that people in Gwent can also find advice and signposting to other support services on the Gwent Health Guide.
