LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - No child wants to be in the hospital especially during the holidays. So, the nurses and child life specialists at UMC Children's Hospital are asking for donations, any gift that might cheer up a child at a Christmas party there this weekend, or saved for a special deliver later.
Certified child life specialist Hannah Boyd said, "they still believe in magic. They believe in all the good in the world so it's so important that we keep that magic and holiday spirit alive here just to lift their spirits and keep them going."
Hannah said, "so we do a Christmas shopping event where parents can come down and shop for their kids and try to make it special and normal as possible."
Donations can be dropped off at the Foundation Office at UMC, which is right next to the Medical Office Plaza and across the driveway from the urgent care center entrance.
