Edmonton Oilers fans on social media ripped goaltender Stuart Skinner for yet another lopsided performance in Wednesday's 7-4 loss to the Washington Capitals.
Skinner had a tough night between the sticks, allowing five goals on just 19 shots for a .737 save percentage, continuing a trend of inconsistency. The Oilers' netminder allowed a goal roughly every three shots he faced.
Here's how Oilers fans on X (formerly called Twitter) reacted to Stuart Skinner's outing. One tweeted:
"The comedy tour continues tomorrow in Tampa Bay. Forget getting a .900 save percentage... the question is, will the Oilers goalies get .800?"
Here are some of the other top reactions on X:
"Stuart Skinner will cost the Edmonton Oilers a place in the playoffs. He's terrible," a third fan wrote.
I'd like to thank Bowman, Knoblauch, Jackson, Stuart , Skinner for whatever this is ... that we are forced to watch," one disgruntled fan wrote.
"Another fuckung stellar .737 save percentage night from Stuart Fucking Skinner. You guys are frittering away the season and frittering away McJesus wanting to stay long term by carrying on this goalie charade. Joke," another said.
"That's another loss directly on Stuart skinner. That guys a fucking idiot and a terrible goalie, enoughs enough," another chimed in.\
