It's the second extra inning game of the Fall Classic. The first was Game 3, which went 18 innings.
That 18-inning game was tied for the longest game in World Series history with a contest from the 2018 edition.
And now with Game 7 continuing on, it's worth revisiting just how long baseball can go.

The longest baseball game ever is a very different question than the longest World Series game ever, which are 18-inning affairs in 2018 and then 2025.
But the longest game ever in MLB-affiliated baseball? Including the minor leagues?
It went 33 innings.
The 33-inning affair was begun on April 18, 1981. It featured the Rochester Red Wings and Pawtucket Red Sox in a Triple-A matchup.
The Red Sox beat the Red Wings, 3-2, in 33 innings.
The game lasted eight hours and 25 minutes of playing time.
They played 32 innings, past 4:00 a.m. local time, before it was called.
And then when they resumed on June 23, Pawtucket needed just one additional inning to end it.
