Joe Burrow injury: Status update for Bengals quarterback

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a toe injury in the team's 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Burrow, 28, left in the second quarter, and he was spotted wearing a walking boot and using crutches after the game. Jeremy Rauch of Fox 19 Now in Cincinnati reported that Burrow is "believed to have turf toe with torn ligaments." That would give the QB an uncertain recovery timeline, but Rauch noted it could be "several weeks."

Burrow's status will be monitored from afar in Colorado as the Denver Broncos are set to host the Bengals on Monday Night Football on Sept. 29 in Week 4. Before that contest, the Bengals' schedule has a road game against the Minnesota Vikings on deck in Week 3.

Jake Browning, 29, entered Sunday's game against the Jaguars in relief of Burrow and he went 21-of-32 for 241 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in a comeback win.

Burrow, a two-time Pro Bowler, led the NFL with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns last season.
