NEWS BRIEF: Disney-owned ESPN has commissioned a feature documentary about the resurgence of US college football team the SMU Mustangs, produced by Pantheon Media-owned Texas Crew Productions in partnership with Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions.
Set to premiere on ESPN on Sunday, September 21, Thunder On: Resurgence of the SMU Mustangs explores how one private school in Dallas defied history, politics and financial odds to earn its way back into the big leagues. It will also be available on streamer ESPN+. The project is executive produced by Texas Crew Productions' Chip Rives and David Karabinas and Omaha Productions co-founders Manning and Jamie Horowitz. Rives also directs the project.
