DSWD DROMIC Report #12 on the Severe Tropical Storm "Kristine" as of 27 October 2024, 6AM - Philippines

Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (Trami) exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 2 PM on Friday, October 25, while maintaining its strength as it continued to move west-southwestward over the West Philippine Sea its rainbands are expected to still affect parts of Luzon. Meanwhile, the possibility of reentry to thes PAR in the following week is not ruled out.

Moreover, the southwesterly wind flow induced by both Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Tropical Storm Kong-Rey, which is located outside the PAR, will generate strong to gale-force gusts in certain regions of the country. According to the PAGASA bulletin issued at 11 AM today, Tropical Storm Kong-Rey is currently moving westward at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour (kph). Once it enters the PAR, it will be designated with the local name "Leon."

A total of 1,556,271 families or 6,081,689 persons are affected in 9,360 barangays in Regions NCR, I, II, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, Caraga, CAR, and BARMM (see Annex A).
