Tom Brady hasn't thrown a football in almost three years, but he hasn't left the spotlight at all. This time, he's being accused of a conflict of interest after taking a role as Fox's lead commentator while also becoming a part-owner of the Raiders.
On Monday Night Football, the accusations escalated after Brady was spotted wearing a headset in the Raiders' coaching booth while dressed in a suit.
A day later, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Brady hadn't breached any protocol.
During the post-game press conference, a reporter asked about ESPN's claim that Brady meets with Chip Kelly, the Raiders' offensive coordinator, three times a week.
"That's not accurate. That's not accurate. That's not accurate. We have conversations," Carroll said, seemingly trying to respond without revealing too much.
"I talk to Tom, Chip talks to Tom-regularly. I mean, we have a tremendous asset. And so we all get along well, we respect each other. We talk about life, football, and whatever comes up. He has great insight, so we're lucky to have him as an owner," he later added.
Brady may not meet in person with Carroll and Kelly, but he's clearly involved with the Raiders' coaching staff and perhaps even taking part in key decisions.
