To The Sky and Thunderful are celebrating a major milestone as Godbreakers reaches 50k wishlists, marking the occasion with a new video that dives deep into the game's mechanics. In the video, Design Director Reza Hedayati walks players through the heart of Godbreakers' action. It highlights its power-stealing combat, the creative possibilities of fragment-based character builds, and the explosive godbreak mechanic that defines its identity.
Godbreakers is a four player co op action game where players embody vessels of humanity. They are resurrected by celestial forces to defeat the Monad, a rogue artificial intelligence. Combat is fast, chaotic, and rewarding, with the ability to absorb enemy powers and wield them back against towering foes. Furthermore, every run encourages experimentation, allowing players to cancel moves for sharp control, chain devastating attacks, and adapt their style with new archetypes and weapon unlocks.
The game thrives on its cooperative intensity. Teams of up to four can coordinate abilities, chain attacks, and harness absorbed powers to unleash godbreaks. They are devastating finishers that turn enemy strength into destructive force. Battles against multi-phase bosses stand out as high points. Each of them offers evolving patterns, unique personalities, and relentless challenges designed to push teamwork to its limits.
Beyond combat, Godbreakers offers variety with six surreal biomes, each presenting its own enemies, hazards, and strategic demands. The constant interplay of speed, precision, and creativity ensures that no two runs feel alike. It also helps in keeping gameplay fresh while rewarding skill and adaptation.
A demo is now available on Steam, giving players an early taste of Godbreakers' fluid battles and memorable encounters. The game will release its full version on PC and PlayStation 5 sometime this year.
