Ice cream recall: This Friendly's flavor recalled in 3 states due to the risk of 'life-threatening allergic reaction'

If you recently bought this tub of Friendly's ice cream from the store, you might want to take a closer look at its ingredients before eating it.

DFA Dairy Brands, LLC is recalling its Friendly's-branded Cookies & Cream ice cream due to undeclared soy and wheat allergens, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The agency stated that the recalled product was mistakenly packaged in Vanilla Bean containers but topped with a Cookies & Cream lid.

No illnesses have been reported to date. Here's what you need to know about the recall.

The recalled ice cream was sold in 48-fluid-ounce containers with a sell-by date of Nov. 26, 2025.

It was distributed to stores in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

The FDA stressed that no other Friendly's products were impacted by the recall.

Those with soy and wheat allergies are urged not to consume the product. As the FDA states, "People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy and/or wheat run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products."

Customers who have purchased the recalled ice cream are advised to return it to its place of purchase for a full refund.

Those with questions about the recall may contact the company at 800-587-2259.
