The Cleveland Browns received the ball to start the second half having stolen momentum back from the Denver Broncos with a late touchdown to close out the first half.
The third quarter began with both teams trading punts and it sure looked like the Broncos would add another punt -- this time from their own end zone. On third and 11, Bo Nix fired in a laser down the middle of the field to Marvin Mims Jr. who caught it and ran the rest of the way for a whooping 93-yard touchdown pass.
Broncos 28, Browns 17.
Then Jerry Jeudy again abused Levi Wallace on the very next play for the Browns. Jameis Winston hit a wide open Jeudy for a 70 yard touchdown pass for the immediate answer and momentum shift.
On the two-point conversion, Winston is only looking at Levi Wallace and got the two-points there to make it a three-point game.
Broncos 28, Browns 25.
The heart attack nature of this quarter was both awesome and terrible. The Broncos defense settled in on the next series and forced a punt.
Bo Nix then got drive going that started at the Broncos own five yard line. He would find Courtland Sutton open on a naked bootleg for a 32-yard gain, then Denver's running game finally started to show up. A run of 8 by Audric Estimate, then several big runs by Jaleel McLaughlin piled up 43 yards on the drive to get Denver just outside of the Browns 10 yard line.
On third and two, Nix from the shotgun was pressured and forced to throw it away to bring up fourth down. Wil Lutz would kick the field goal to extend their lead to six late in the third quarter.
Broncos 31, Browns 25.
The quarter would end with the Browns getting stuffed on third and one on an outside pitch and then Winston getting a quick snap in just before the quarter ended to get the first down on a fourth down.
