Nairobi, December ( وكالة الأنباء السعودية ۔ 12 ديسمبر 2025ء) The meeting took place on the sidelines of the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) held December 8 to 12 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Discussions addressed drought, desertification, land degradation, and the impacts of climate change on natural resources and environmental security. In this regard, Almushaiti underscored the importance of strengthening joint Arab environmental efforts.
On the sidelines of UNEA-7, the vice minister held a series of bilateral meetings to expand international cooperation and support global environmental protection efforts.

He held talks with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Executive Director Inger Andersen on strengthening cooperation between the ministry and the program, with a focus on sustainability and climate adaptation initiatives, as well as supporting UN programs through effective national efforts.
Almushaiti also explored bilateral cooperation in the environmental sector, meeting with the president of Oman's Environment Authority. They discussed ways to develop joint programs for natural resource management, environmental monitoring, and biodiversity protection between the two countries.
The vice minister affirmed Saudi Arabia's support for Oman's presidency of the seventh UNEA session. He emphasized the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing regional and international environmental action, in line with its environmental commitments and leadership role in establishing an effective framework to address the challenges and risks posed by drought, desertification, and land degradation.
