Japan, UAE looking to develop partnership beyond energy

Japan aims to diversify its bilateral cooperation with the United Arab Emirates beyond the energy sector to foster a broader partnership, as stated by Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ONISHI Yohei.

During a courtesy call meeting on Friday with Reem Ketait, the Assistant Minister for Political Affairs in the UAE Foreign Ministry, Onishi stated that diversification is progressing under the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Initiative.

According to Japan's Foreign Ministry, Ketait said she would work to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing ongoing negotiations and visits by UAE dignitaries to Japan, which are key to building a promising future for bilateral relations, including the Osaka-Kansai EXPO.

Both sides agreed to continue using the CSPI framework to deepen cooperation across various fields, reinforcing their commitment to a resilient and mutually beneficial partnership for the future.
