The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers on Friday.

Times of Malta leads with comments by Finance Minister Clyde Caruana, who on Thursday said the push to introduce a global minimum tax rate of 15 per cent could be in trouble, with several EU member states rethinking their positions.

The newspaper also reports that an international cryptocurrency exchange with a licensed affiliate in Malta is under scrutiny for processing funds from suspected criminal networks.

The Malta Independent leads with a report on how Malta marked International Children's Day with a national conference on the growing number of children who are communicating with, and even meeting, unknown adults they encounter online.

The Independent also reports that Prime Minister Robert Abela on Thursday launched a public consultation on the country's updated National AI Strategy.

In-Nazzjon refers to comments by PN leader Alex Borg, who told parliament that a Nationalist government would retain the energy subsidies.

The newspaper also reports that Abela would not say when the proposed metro studies will be made public.
