Keir Starmer faces MPs at Prime Minister's Questions at 12pm today - a week before Rachel Reeves will deliver her make-or-break Budget.
The PM will answer questions from Tory Kemi Badenoch, where she accused the Chancellor of planning a "stealth tax bombshell". It comes after Ms Reeves last week abandoned plans for a manifesto-busting hike to income tax in the Budget.
Mr Starmer may also have to answer further questions on an explosion of speculation about his leadership after a briefing war erupted last week. He has not yet faced MPs since vowing he will lead Labour into the next general election in an interview with The Mirror on Monday.
Elsewhere, the PM's Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood sparked a major backlash after announcing a controversial shake-up to the asylum system earlier this week - which could mean some tricky questions for Mr Starmer.

The PM's Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood sparked a major backlash after announcing a controversial shake-up to the asylum system earlier this week - which could mean some tricky questions for Mr Starmer.
Ms Mahmood announced a string of hardline measures, ordering officials to stop being hesitant about kicking out families including children. And she revealed that the Government is investigating enforced returns to Syria after the brutal regime led by Bashar al-Assad was toppled.
The measures were condemned by Labour backbenchers, human rights campaigners and opposition groups.
