(WJW) - It is one of the most requested comebacks in Taco Bell history, and finally, fans are getting their wish.
Taco Bell is bringing back the Quesarito, available nationwide for a limited time starting Thursday.
The Quesarito is described by Taco Bell as a "cult-favorite" featuring seasoned beef, seasoned rice, chipotle sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, and melty cheeses, wrapped inside a grilled quesadilla.
"We heard our fans loud and clear," Luis Restrepo, Taco Bell's chief marketing officer, said in a statement. "Their passion turned the Quesarito into a Taco Bell legend and bringing it back for the holidays felt like the perfect way to celebrate that energy."
As part of the return, Taco Bell invited Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić, whose draft announcement "famously" aired during a Quesarito commercial in 2014, to try the burrito-wrapped grilled quesadilla for what the fast-food chain called "the very first time."
"The accidental overlap has since become a viral chapter in sports and Taco Bell lore," Taco Bell said in a statement, saying it was "calling on Jokic to finally settle the score and offering a friendly apology for the coincidence that paired the Quesarito's ad with his draft moment."
However, according to the chain, Jokić has responded by saying he doesn't plan to try the Quesarito. "No. It's nice they're finally apologizing. But no."
The Quesarito is available on menus nationwide for $4.99.
