Activists demand urgent police action to find Indira Gandhi's daughter

KUALA LUMPUR: A group of activists gathered on Saturday (Nov 22) demanding urgent police action to locate Indira Gandhi's missing daughter, Prasana Diksa.

They chanted "Pulangkan Prasana kepada ibunya!" and "PDRM, act now!" while criticising the lack of progress in the decade-long search.

The protesters came with banners of pictures of Indira Gandhi and her daughter when she was a baby.

They urged authorities to enforce court orders without delay, as the prolonged inaction has caused unnecessary suffering to the mother.

They also called for immediate updates and accountability from the police.

Speaking to the media, Indira Gandhi Action Team chairman Arun Dorasamy said that Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail had been informed that the group wished to meet him at 12pm at Bukit Aman Police Station.

"Our goal is to give this teddy bear of Prasana to tell the authorities to give the daughter back to her mother," he added.

Arun said that what is wanted is for the police to conduct a full investigation.

"We need robust action on this. We hope this rally ends at 12.20pm if all goes well. So long as the IGP does not come to take the teddy bear from the mother, we will not leave," he added.
