Kate Gosselin's Daughter Alexis, 21, Makes Rare Appearance in New TikTok, Weeks After Mom Joins Platform

Several weeks after the 50-year-old former TV personality opened her TikTok account, she shared a video packing her lunch for a work shift -- which included a brief appearance by her 21-year-old daughter Alexis.

In the clip, which Kate posted on Aug. 9, she is preparing a salad while Alexis walks through the kitchen on her way out of the house.

"Ride carefully, and text me when you get there, please," the mom of eight tells her daughter, to which Alexis replies, "Love you!"

Alexis, the first of Kate's sextuplets to be born, has lived a fairly private life in the years following the end of her family's TV show.

Kate's video was the latest in a series of clips she has been sharing to TikTok over the last few weeks after she first started her account in July.

"There's going to be a lot of dogs on it -- and kids -- but mostly dogs," shared the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star about her new social media page in a video on July 28. "I'm in my German Shepherd dog mom era. Is that how they say it? You know what I mean."

Kate shares eight children -- 24-year-old twins Mady and Cara, as well as 21-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel -- with ex-husband Jon Gosselin. The family skyrocketed into fame as the stars of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8, which was later named Kate Plus 8 after Kate filed for divorce from Jon in 2009.

After Kate and Jon's divorce, their children Collin and Hannah chose to live with their father, while the rest remained with their mother.

In May, to celebrate her sextuplets' 21st birthday, Kate shared a photo clinking glasses with Alexis, Aaden, Leah and Joel, while Collin and Hannah were notably absent. On the same day, Jon shared a video celebrating Hannah's birthday over cocktails with his daughter and his girlfriend Stephanie Lebo.

In an Aug. 7 TikTok post on his own account, which he recently started, Collin opened up about his estrangement from his family in the years since their family's show concluded.

"Born to be a team, us against the world," shared Collin in the post, which was set to Adele's track "Hometown Glory." "Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could've looked like."

"Forced apart, pitted against each other," added Collin in the caption, referencing his siblings. "All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids? I will always love them more than anything. The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could've shared. I love you guys... ❤️"

In a September 2024 interview with The Sun, Collin alleged that his mom confined him and "isolated" him from his other seven siblings, adding that he was often the "scapegoat" for his mother's problems.

"My mother had a room built in our unfinished section of the storage basement," he alleged to the outlet. "She had a room put up with cameras in it, a tiny window in the corner and it was bolt-locked from the outside. It was like a containment room, literally, and it had a mattress on the floor and that's how I lived."

Speaking to The Sun at the time, an attorney for Kate said he didn't believe that Kate had done anything to "intentionally harm" her son and that "she did what she did to protect herself and her family" from what he called "troubled behavior."
