It has been a month since the change, but what had been Press Waffle, 1424 Main St., Suite 104, in Little Rock's SoMa neighborhood, now has new owners and the name has changed -- to The Spot. Yes, the breakfast-brunch menu still offers Liege-style (also known as Belgian) waffles, though in a different physical format than previously (they're now rectangular instead of round-ish), but that's now only half the story; there's now also an array of soups, sliders, sandwiches, salads and sides.
New owner Stefan Johnson took the place over about a month ago from Mary Busby Stramel and her daughter, Rosemary Compton, part of the family that owns the budding Dallas-based Press Waffle mini-chain, who opened the Main Street location in September 2021.
