INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -- Lone Pine, a popular chef-driven steakhouse in Carmel, is set to offer a special New Year's Eve tasting menu featuring signature dishes such as the Bloody Mary Wedge Salad and French Onion Soup Crostini.
The tasting menu, prepared by owner and sommelier Josh Mazanowski along with sous chef de cuisine Brandon Frye, showcases a commitment to quality ingredients sourced from local growers and thoughtfully selected farms.
Mazanowski described Lone Pine as a restaurant where dishes like the wedge salad are reimagined with a unique twist, such as a Bloody Mary dressing made from cherry tomatoes.
At Lone Pine, the emphasis is placed on creating exceptional dining experiences with a focus on chef-driven culinary arts. Mazanowski explained, "Sous Chef Brandon and his team are pretty much trained in the French culinary arts, where modern American cuisine is steeped in a French tradition," signifying a dedication to quality techniques and flavors.
The restaurant features a craft cocktail bar that serves both classic and modern drinks, ensuring a refined experience to accompany the meal. Local mushrooms are utilized in some dishes, such as the "Pizza" Mushrooms, which combine flavors of traditional pizza with local varieties like maitake and lion's mane.
One of the standout offerings from the New Year's Eve menu includes the House Pasta with Black Winter Truffles, showcasing house-made angel hair pasta finished with freshly shaved black truffles. Frye emphasizes the quality of such ingredients, stating, "The menu development, tasting wine, tasting food is the spice of life, quite literally."
Mazanowski aims for quality, stating, "I wanted to do something culinarily easy for everybody to grasp, but also kind of perfect those dishes that you see a lot of places."
