Seth Rollins Reveals What Triple H Said When He Threatened To Fire Him

Seth Rollins has been one of the top stars in WWE for well over a decade now and he's worked with some of the biggest names of the business. While Seth has achieved major success throughout his career he recently confirmed that he almost left WWE before his run with the company really got going.

During an appearance on Mohr Stories with Jay Mohr, Seth Rollins explained that he was close to getting fired during his early days in NXT as Triple H and others didn't like his attitude.

"I was close. I was on the chopping block. They told me, 'One more and you're gone. I don't care how good you are, you're not gonna get a chance to show the world. We will fire you.' I had that conversation with Triple H."

"I was sitting in Full Sail University, we taped our early episodes of NXT there. They were a great partner for us, and there was a little auditorium. I remember sitting in the back and he was like, 'Hey, I don't care how good you are, you're being difficult with this guy, this guy thinks you're difficult.' Terry Taylor, Red Rooster, he and I butted heads quite a bit when he got down to Florida, and Triple H didn't appreciate it. My attitude wasn't appreciated and it was like, 'If one more negative report comes back we will fire you.'"

The Visionary went on to explain that he was ready to leave the company, but he called his mentor Joey Mercury who talked him down and helped him find a new perspective.

"He painted it completely different for me, he was like, 'Dude when you go out to the ring, you're not yourself, you play a character. It's the same thing when you talk with these people, you're playing a character. When you go home and you're with your girlfriend, and your dog, you're still you, you're still the same person. It's an act, it's all an act, you're always playing the game.' And when I kinda framed it that way it was much easier for me to be like, 'Oh, ok. I can do that.'"

Luckily for Rollins he took that advice to heart and was able to rise to the occasion during a difficult time in his career. Currently he is sidelined due to injury, and The Visionary noted during his appearance on Mohr Stories that he will likely be out of action for another three to four months.
