JoJo Siwa took to social media over the weekend to let fans know that she had to be rushed to the hospital with a condition that ... well, it sounds pretty brutal.
In a video shared to her TikTok, she revealed that she suffered a ruptured ovarian cyst that led to internal bleeding.
Siwa addressed her hectic day -- she performed at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Indiana on Friday just hours are being hospitalized -- while thanking the "Doctors and Nurses for working so fast and helping me get back on time."
"Long story short, every time that I've been dancing the last couple of days or even just like walking, like anything, my stomach would just like really, really hurt," she said. "And I don't know why, but it just kind of passes, so I was like maybe it's that time of the month, maybe it's a cramp, I don't know."
The 22-year-old singer said she then went to Mall of America to "do some morning Black Friday work."
"And all of a sudden I was coming back up to my room," she said. "I told my mom, like, 'Hey, I'm going to have to get myself looked at when I get back home.' This pain is like really bad, but I kind of thought it would pass like it has been the past few days."
That was not the case, though, when she got to her room.
"I had three hours before the performance, and I was like, I'm just going to lay down, close my eyes and hope for the best," she said. "I laid down, closed my eyes, and I was like I can't breathe. This is really bad."
Siwa said she then hopped in the bathtub "to see if that calms it down."
"And that set it off 100 times worse," she said. "So, I got in the bathtub, and I was like in it maybe four minutes, and I was like I have to get out immediately because I knew I was going to black out, and I felt like I was going to throw up."
She said she got out and called her mother while she was blacking out. She said they then decided to go to the hospital, but she was naked and couldn't move to put clothes on. She said that is when she and her mother decided to just call 9-1-1.
Siwa said she told the workers at the hospital that she had a lot of fans waiting to see her at Mall of America, and that if it wasn't a life-threatening situation and she could be out of the hospital by noon, that is what she wanted to do.
"I went and got an ultrasound, and the ultrasound revealed that one of my ovaries had a cyst on it that had burst and was bleeding into my stomach," she said. "So, that was what was causing the excruciating pain. Anytime that the blood in your stomach moves, that's brutal pain."
She said that the pain should resolve itself, and she has to go get it looked at again in a week.
"It's basically just excruciating pain," she said. "And the good news is, I think that brought a lot of peace of mind to me. I know what the pain is. Just take a second, and it'll calm down. But like even when I'm asleep, and I roll over, it wakes me up because it hurts and cramps because of the blood in the belly.
"Imagine the dancing ... it's really just a whole other level."
Many of her followers popped into the replies to agree that the pain of a burst ovarian cyst is pretty terrible.
"Ovarian cyst ruptures are THE WORST pain ever!" one person wrote.
"I can 100% confirm that the pain is absolutely that bad," another wrote.
Another person wrote that it is "worse than giving child birth," so it is kind of amazing that she did make her show.
