"Prison Break" Reboot Cast Revealed

"Prison Break" Reboot Cast Revealed

Late last year, it was revealed that 20th Television was developing a pilot for a new "Prison Break" series for Hulu and Disney+.

After the original show got a surge in viewership after it was added onto Netflix, pushing the show into the Nielsen streaming chart, Disney decided that there was enough interest in the franchise to look into revive the show.

The original series follows Michael Scofield as he goes to prison to try to save the life of his only brother Lincoln, who is on death row for a crime he didn't commit.

The new show is expected to be its own thing, but it will be set within the same universe as the original series. It's not expected that any of the original series actors, Wentworth Miller, and Dominic Purcell.

Disney has announced that Emily Browning, Lukas Gage and Drake Rodger have joined the show as series regulars.

No plot details have been revealed about the new series, though some character details for the three actors have also been revealed, giving us a hint of what's to come.

Emily Browning will play the role of "Cassidy Collins," an ex-soldier turned corrections officer who takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America. Emily has previously starred in "One More Shot" and "American Gods".

Luke Gage will portray "Jackson," a politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign. He has previously starred in "Euphoria" and "White Lotus".

Drake Rodger will play "Tommy," an inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America, incarcerated ten years ago. Drak has previously starred in "Landman" and "The Winchesters".

The upcoming show will be executive produced by Elgin James under his Sierra Drive production banner, he previously created "Mayans M.C" and "The Outlaws".. Four of the original producers on the original series are returning including the show's creator Paul Scheuring, along with Dawn Olmstead, Marty Adelstein and Neal Moritz.

Should the pilot get picked up for a full season, expect to see it released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally. I also wouldn't be surprised if it was also shown on Disney's linear channels like ABC.

All previous seasons of "Prison Break" are available to stream on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
