She is opposed to dieting, standard health metrics like body mass index, beauty standards, and "fatphobia."

Gays became privileged members of the Oppressed. Why not the morbidly obese? Tovar explicitly makes the comparison by referring to the military's Don't Ask Don't Tell policy, which preceded the current encouragement of homosexuality in the armed forces:
