Hearing Christmas music just puts you in a festive mood, but what if I told you that your favorite Christmas song could be.....DANGEROUS!! *Gasps in Spanish*
A new study from Insuranceopedia has found that festive tunes with over 120 beats per minute (BPM) could make you a menace behind the wheel.
That's right -- your favorite holiday hits might just be the soundtrack to risky driving habits.
Gene Autry's Frosty the Snowman with a whopping 172 BPM. Who wouldve thought that good ole' Frosty was a dangerous man!
Not far behind is the queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey, whose All I Want for Christmas Is You clocks in at 150 BPM. And José Feliciano's Feliz Navidad? It's spreading joy at 149 BPM and possibly speeding tickets. (I'm guilty of having karaoke sessions in my car whenever those two songs come on so, I agree, DANGEROUS!)
So, next time you hit the road, maybe leave the high-BPM holiday hits for the after-party. Drive safe -- and Merry Christmas!
