It didn't long after Sherrone Moore was fired as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines for speculation to start amping up as to who would replace him.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer was the immediate first name that was floated, though he's remained adamant in the lead up to the No. 9-ranked Crimson Tide's College Football Playoff matchup against No. 8 Oklahoma on Dec. 19 that he's not going anywhere.

If DeBoer doesn't take the Michigan job, then most believed the next odds-on favorite to do so is the same guy who succeeded him at Washington when he left for Tuscaloosa: Jedd Fisch.
Betting market Kalshi currently has Fisch as the overwhelming frontrunner for the Wolverines' head-coaching vacancy with a 53% chance of landing it. DeBoer ranks second with an 18% chance, followed by Vanderbilt's Clark Lea at 7%.

As Fisch and the Huskies prepare for a LA Bowl matchup against the Boise State Broncos on Saturday night, Fisch addressed his coaching future amid rumors he could be heading to Ann Arbor.
"Yeah, I expect to be here," Fisch told reporters during his LA Bowl press conference, via On3.
Fisch is 31-33 in two seasons with Washington, leading the school to bowl games both years. Prior to that, he spent here seasons as the head coach at Arizona, where he went 16-21 and won the Alamo Bowl in 2023.
Fisch started surging up boards as the frontrunner for the Michigan job after news broke that Arizona State agreed to a contract extension with Kenny Dillingham, who many believed would have accepted the UM job if offered.
