Legend Punjabi lyricist Nimma Loharka passes away

Legend Punjabi lyricist Nimma Loharka has passed away at 48, Indian media reported.

His last rites will reportedly take place in his home village and the news has been confirmed by his family.

Following the announcement of her demise, tributes poured in from across the Punjabi music fraternity. Artist, singer, and fans alike remembered him not only as a gifted performer but also as a kind, humble soul who brought joy to every set he worked on.

Nimma Loharka was a famous Punjabi lyricist, and in a piece of sad news. He was born in Amritsar, and Nimma's original name was Nirmal Singh.

According to a report Nimma had penned lyrics for more than 150 singers. It featured Punjab's top stars, including Diljit Dosanjh, Amrinder Gill, and Malkit Singh.

Nimma was known for his lyrics such as, "Dil ditta nai si thokran lawan vaste" along with "Ki samjawan ehna nain kamleyan nu".

Nimma Loharka had penned more than 500 songs, and his lyrics had earned him widespread acclaim. For Diljit Dosanjh, he had written famous tracks such as Gidha and also Daka.

According to a report by the publication, Nimma was suffering from a prolonged illness and had been unwell for many days.
