Missing Nashville man found safe in Sumner County

GALLATIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - A missing elderly man out of Nashville was found a short time later in an adjacent county.

Deputies in Sumner County were alerted by license plate reading cameras to a vehicle belonging to 76-year-old Robert Havens on Wednesday morning.

Havens was reported missing from Davidson County, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a Silver Alert to the public on Tuesday night. The alert included information about Havens' vehicle, a 2018 black Toyota Camry with a TN license plate BLB7162.

The LPRs in Sumner County directed deputies to Havens' location, and he was recovered safely, according to the Sumner County Sheriff's Office.

Havens was reportedly alert with officers and eventually reunited with his family.
