Samsung Might Finally Have Satellite Voice And Video Calls Supported On Its Flagship Phone

Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S26 series in the early part of 2026 even though the company could be forced to delay the event. The S26 series leaks have got people confused about the possible upgrades but new information has come out which hints at Apple-like features.

Samsung is reportedly going to power the new flagships with the Exynos 2600 chipset which is tipped to pack a new modem that is expected to offer satellite-powered voice and video calls. iPhone 14 series was the first model to support the non-network feature and one of Apple's rivals could bring it for its premium devices.

Samsung's Satellite Upgrade: Coming To Galaxy S26 Series?

The report does not confirm the use of the new Exynos modem but it is most likely to be paired up with the Exynos 2600 SoC that Samsung is expected to use for the S26 series in some regions this year. It is not the most important upgrade that buyers look forward to but Samsung has a different agenda to focus on and keep in touch with how its biggest rivals shape up in the market.

Samsung does keep an eye on Apple for its own development reasons and we have seen it mock the Cupertino-based giant over its lack of a foldable product, which is most likely to become a reality in 2026.

Satellite-based calls are definitely catching on, mostly because of services like Starlink from SpaceX and you also have the likes of Globalstar powering it for Apple. Samsung will need a similar deal to use someone's satellite to support through its hardware, which eventually comes with a price that people will have to pay.
