Gujarat Giants (GG) purchased a total of 16 players in the Women's Premier League (WPL 2026) auction in Delhi on Thursday, November 27. Their first buy at the auction was New Zealand all-rounder Sophie Devine.
The franchise signed the 36-year-old for ₹2 crore after a bidding war with Delhi Capitals (DC) and her former franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Devine was also GG's most expensive buy at the auction.
The Gujarat-based side used their Right-to-Match option to re-sign Indian pacer Kashvee Gautam for ₹65 lakh. The other notable names GG roped in at the event included Indian seamer Renuka Singh Thakur, Indian all-rounder Bharti Fulmali and English all-rounder Danni Wyatt-Hodge.
Notably, Gujarat retained two players, Australia's Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney, ahead of the auction. They used ₹6 crore from their total purse of ₹15 crore to retain the players.
Gujarat went into the WPL 2026 auction with a remaining purse of ₹9 crore, the second highest among the five franchises. They spent ₹8.85 crore to rope in 16 players and were left with ₹15 lakh.
Here's the completed list of players who will be part of the Gujarat Giants squad for the upcoming 2026 edition of the WPL.
Gujarat finished third in the WPL 2025 points table after the league stage, winning four out of their eight fixtures.
