Effective December 2, 2025, the partnership will allow Air India to place its 'AI' designator on Air Canada-operated flights across six Canadian cities beyond Vancouver and London (Heathrow), while Air Canada passengers gain seamless domestic connections in India.
Travellers combining Air India and Air Canada flights can book a single ticket, enjoy unified baggage allowance, and earn/redeem frequent flyer points on both airlines. Members of Air India's Maharaja Club will continue to enjoy Star Alliance Gold privileges, including priority services, extra baggage allowance, and airport lounge access.

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson said, "More than two million people travel between India and Canada every year. The reinstatement of our partnership with Air Canada eases journeys for thousands every day, from families reuniting to students and businesses." Air Canada also noted the agreement will provide "smoother connections and an expanded network for customers."
