Christmas attraction comes to Glasgow for the first time

A brand new festive attraction will come to Glasgow - with free entry.

The Clydeside Christmas Village will welcome families, friends and funseekers of all ages i the West End of Glasgow, from November 28 until early January.

The Christmas event will include entertainment options and activities for every taste - and will have free entry.

With individually-priced festive fairground attractions, an undercover ice-skating rink, a giant lit Christmas tree and much more, there's plenty for thrill-seekers as well as the covered, heated Alpine Bar with a wide range of food and drink options for a more relaxed day or night out.

Santa Claus will be visiting the event on certain dates and offer times to meet him for free.

The event will extend South Street, adding free on-site parking for 250 cars.

Lauren Napier, one of the workers, said: "This is a brand new attraction for Glasgow, bringing together all our favourite things about this special time of year in one location.

"We have a long track record of putting smiles on faces in Scotland all year round, but we are stepping things up this Christmas with an event we intend to make a tradition for Glasgow families every year.

"We want to really give the city a taste of Christmas that's accessible and available to all - so offering good value is really important to us, as well as quality, safety, comfort and most of all fun."
