Outgoing chairman Ian Thomas was able to report on what he described as one of the most 'transformational' years in the club's long history when Uplyme and Lyme Regis Cricket Club held their annual general meeting.
Mr Thomas said that from a situation where the club faced difficult questions about its future and uncertainty about how to move forward, progress and development had been made on all fronts.
He was able to report that The Talbot Arms team and the Uplyme Casuals, a new concept of social cricket playing games on Sundays, had both been brought under the club's overall umbrella.
In addition, the junior section had flourished with over seventy members attending and a women's section had been established-an important step in making the club more inclusive.
A pavilion refurbishment and major bar upgrade had transformed the clubhouse experience, he said, and its impact on improving the club's finances had been dramatic.
The meeting was told that the 1st XI had finished fifth in Division C East of the Devon Cricket League, an outstanding achievement for the highest-ranked single team club in the whole of the competition.
Mr Thomas said: "This performance is a testament to the hard work of our players and leadership team who continue to punch well above their weight in a highly competitive division.
"That said, important challenges remain particularly for our flagship Devon Cricket League side.
"To sustain and strengthen this success the club needs to attract more active players at league level and encourage closer engagement between team members and the wider running of the club.
"Our 1st XI is the cornerstone of our playing identity and its continued competitiveness is vital to our shared ambition."
Derek Wellman and Neil Price remain as secretary and treasurer respectively and Mark Batey has taken over the captaincy of the league side although others will stand in at times. A chairman has still to be appointed.
After five years painstaking work, Andy Jones has given up the role of groundsman to be replaced by Trevor Hibberd. David Negus has become bar manager.
Andrew Harrison continues to organise the junior section and will also co-ordinate sponsorship while Harry Booth leads the Casuals and Charlie Galvin will head the Women's Section who hope to play competitive games next season.
Indoor nets ahead of the 2026 season are scheduled to start in February.
